In 2009 I was sitting on the bench at the dojo, watching my son in his karate class. It looked like fun, and with Renchi Camp’s encouragement, I started training alongside my son, never realizing how much my life was about to change for the better.
In 2011, I became Renchi Camp’s assistant instructor in her after school program, and a few months later, tested for my first-degree black belt – something I had never imagined being able to do. Then in 2013, I finally had my own after school class.
I love being able to empower kids, build their confidence, and watch them find their voices. Nothing is better than seeing them grow.
I hope to pass on the same love of karate that Renchi Camp has given me.
